Airbnb’s are becoming more popular for elopement and intimate wedding venues these days and I’m here for it. Why? They’re usually cheaper than standard venues, support the local economy in the communities they’re in, and give you the space to hold a non-traditional experience that’s unique to you (which we all know I love!). So if you want to save money, get married with kick-ass views, and have a unique adventure that you and your partner will cherish, booking an Airbnb elopement might be right up your alley. Here are the best Airbnb’s for your Minnesota elopement!
The Blacksmith House provides your own private corner of downtown Minneapolis. It can host 9 guests, has an indoor fireplace, and is within walking distance of so many cool Minneapolis haunts. This property is also pet friendly, so you can bring your pup. And with a full kitchen, a courtyard and a rooftop, you wouldn’t even need to leave the property if you don’t want to!
You could tie the knot right there in the courtyard, or take a 10 minute walk to either Hennepin County Courthouse or Mill City Ruins. Then you can take some cool photos downtown (the stars outside First Avenue anyone??), visit your favorite dive or cocktail bar, and even catch a show at First Ave or the Armory. If you’re looking for some non-traditional fun for your Minnesota elopement, check out this Airbnb to see if it’s right for you!

Where do I even begin with this one? It’s giving kitsch galore. A 70’s/80’s daydream. It’s got a heated indoor pool, themed bedrooms, and 7 chandeliers. This beautiful house is truly one of a kind and it’s only an hour north of the Twin Cities.

There’s a deck off of the pool room that opens onto a spacious yard with lots of privacy. And with so much happening inside the home, you wouldn’t even need to leave the property. You could exchange vows and then jump in the pool – clothing optional. You could take photos with that classic car and make tiki drinks that’ll transport you to a tropical paradise regardless if it’s -20 degrees outside. This adorable vintage home is perfect if you’re looking to host somewhere offbeat. The home has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, and hosts 7, so you could easily host your friends who will serve as your officiant and witness. You can enjoy your coffee together on the screened-in porch before getting ready in the morning or play a few rounds of corn hole in the backyard in the afternoon.
This house is also a great setting if you’re hoping to incorporate some off-beat activities into your Minnesota elopement experience. The house is only an 8 minute drive from the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska, which would be an awesome place to exchange your vows. From there, you’re a 7 minute drive to Paisley Park, Prince’s former home and recording studio-turned museum, which is a must-see for any music fan. And to top it all off, the home is less than 10 minutes from a local Llama Farm, where you can either book a group visit or arrange for the llamas to be brought to you. Can you imagine those photos?! Ok I’m sooo obsessed with this space in downtown Carver. This listing is a two-bedroom apartment above Getaway Motor Cafe. It’s housed in a historic building that’s been lovingly renovated in a not Millennial-grey way (think exposed brick, gorgeous natural light and cozy Nordic vibes). It has 2 bedrooms with queen beds, which is perfect for you and your partner and up to 2 other guests. And with a patio, a full kitchen and an indoor fireplace, you could easily host your nearest and dearest, or spend time relaxing with just your partner.
You could start your day with a coffee on the patio. Then you can embrace your inner fantasy nerd and hang out at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival for your elopement and/or for a post-vow exchange hang. Then you can head on back to Carver and enjoy cocktails, wine or beer at Getaway before cozying up in front of the fireplace in your Airbnb. Check out this space, which is perfect for a non-traditional elopement experience.
This home in Excelsior is a converted schoolhouse from the 1850’s. The backyard oasis is perfect for an intimate vow exchange or reception, but Lake Minnetonka is also close by if a beach elopement is more your speed. This area has so many options for walking trails, biking, boating, and fishing!
This gorgeous Airbnb includes beautiful modern furnishings, a fire pit, and a private patio. This would be an amazing location to explore Excelsior and its nearby parks, cruise around Lake Minnetonka on a rented pontoon, and end the day enjoying the fire pit while you snuggle up together. Located in Crosby, this is a beautiful, custom built Aframe cabin surrounded by woods on three sides. If you’re thinking about eloping somewhere private and cozy, this cabin is a great option. This Airbnb has two bedrooms and a kitchen. It’s located on an acre of land with a fire pit (and Adirondack chairs, of course), so it’s the perfect setting for an intimate outdoor ceremony or reception.
You could either elope at the property or take a 5 minute drive to Serpent Lake, which has two public access points, or make a quick trip over to Cuyuna, which offers a bunch of trails and adventure spots. You could spend the day exploring the state park or some nearby towns, and then hit up Castle Danger Brewing on your way back to the property.
